Equity ownership in Brazil

Goal:

Based on data informed by each company registered with the CVM regarding its final shareholders that hold more than 5% of the shares issued by the company, the research is structured in two essentially empirical parts. The first, with the use of descriptive statistics, seeks to portray the different profiles of shareholders and their position in the companies' ownership structures, considering all direct and indirect participations through pyramidal and cross structures. The second, through network analysis, aims to study how these market players are distributed and related to the different enterprises in which they are shareholders.
